Performance Properties
Fluoroether is a purple amorphous crystal under normal conditions, with a relative density of 1.558 g/cm³, melting point 46–47℃, boiling point 119℃ (13 mmHg), flash point 138℃. It is insoluble in water and soluble in organic solvents such as acetone, diethyl ether and toluene. Freshly distilled pure product is a colorless, transparent and viscous liquid, which gradually turns dark purple upon exposure to light in air. It is mainly used as an intermediate for the synthesis of hexaflumuron, a benzoylurea insecticide. This product is generally commercially supplied as a 50% DMF solution.
